Dr. Jonathan Wu
Dr. Jonathan Wu was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up in Hong Kong and San Francisco. While he was living in the United States, Dr. Wu completed his university studies at University of the Pacific and received a B.A. degree in Chemistry in 3 years. Dr. Wu then went on to dental school and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, which is the only dental school in the United States with a 3 year DDS program.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Wu completed a one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at University of the Pacific’s Union City Dental Care Center. He then returned to Canada and associated in Burnaby and Vancouver for 9 years before having his own dental practice in Richmond. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Dr. Wu believes in providing complete and comfortable dental care in a friendly, relaxed, and caring environment. He establishes life-long relationships with patients of all ages and helps them achieve the goal of long-term dental health. Dr. Wu enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from restorative and cosmetic procedures to oral surgery. Dr. Wu is very much looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you and your dental needs.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Wu is an active member of the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of British Columbia (CCDSBC) and had served two terms as their President. He is currently one of the Board of Directors of CCDSBC, as well as the Co-Chair of the Public Health Committee. In this role, Dr. Wu helps CCDSBC organize dental health fairs and other activities so as to increase oral health awareness in the public. Dr. Wu also enjoys teaching and is a part-time clinical instructor at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene.
When he is not working, Dr. Wu is very active and enjoys all kinds of sports, such as soccer, basketball, swimming, baseball, tennis, and golf. He also loves to travel and has visited many places around the world. In his spare time, Dr. Wu likes to spend time with friends and family, play sports, watch movies, and trying out new restaurants.
